Hello Anglers, As I always tell my clients make sure you consult a moon phase calendar for this region before planning any fishing trip, as it can prove a great week vs a bad week of fishing. This time of year in Guatemala is known as Samana Santa or holy week. The country will shut down for a week to celebrate easter. Always at the end of March on the week of the last full moon. So this means the bite will most likely be slow, yet the shore fishing is exceptional. I have groups circling the second week of April and I couldn't agree more. I hope to you see soon. http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/MoonPhase.php#y2010 Use this sight for free moon phase guides and try and plan your trip at least a week before or after to get the best bite for bill fish.
TIght Lines, Capt Starrs Summary of Species biting this time of year off shore: Blue & Black Marlin, Sail Fish and Big Dorado, some yellow fin, and lots of humpback whale watching.
