Guatemala Fishing Report June 3rd, 2010

The Dorado (Mahi Mahi) Are Biting Good! June 2nd and 3rd, one of our boats The Fat Cat went out just around 12 miles and caught literary a boat load of fish.  On the first day they brought back at least 70 good size dorado back to the dock.  With a group of 7 people all were able to fill the freezer.  Also on the first day they managed to release a few sails as well.  Extremely productive considering they were only targeting dorado. The second day was a lot of the same thing.  50 Dorado were caught just 15 miles off shore with a very defined blue water cut.  At least 5 of these Dorado were in the 30 lb range.  Great time to come down with a light weight 9 wt fly rod.  Also as this water starts cooling and the dorado and tuna crowd the area expect the Blue and Black Marlin report to be very productive this year.  Tight lines!
